Opel Ascona 400 - RBRHUD update

In slowly working through updating the car interiors in RBR to take full advantage of the current RBRHUD features, i finally got around to fixing a few things on the Opel Ascona that were bugging me.

First and foremost was getting rid of the built in "shine" on the steering wheel which rotated with the wheel. It's a big issue with using photo textures for things like steering wheels, and has to be full flattened to only have active lighting affecting it.

But here's a few other tweaks i made:

  • Added a lot of dashboard detail based on a real car, including plunger switches, the dashboard pop-out piece, updated lights
  • Cleaned up the dials, added shadows to the tacho and speedo needles, and even added a shadow for the tape triangle on the tacho which casts across the needle and dial face.
  • Changes to the alpha layer to boost/suppress the glossiness of various materials within the car.
  • Added floor mats and some shading to the lower part of the firewalls to stop it being distractingly bright (particularly noticeable in VR).
  • Attempted to hide a few weird copied parts of the texture, like the fuse rack across the top of the dash, and the buttons from the trip computer being copied as dash buttons across the bottom.
  • New emissive dash lights, dials, and computer displays so they'll show up properly in night stages and through shadowed areas.
  • Little things like making the centre cap on the tacho needle stationary to keep the reflection stable instead of having it weirdly spin (same issue as on shiny steering wheels).

Just unzip this file to the base RBR folder, it includes the correct file structure already:
